Deb Smith is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper and a QuickBooks ProAdvisor. She attended Barnes Business College in Denver, CO and graduated in 1980 with a diploma in Management Accounting. She has worked as a full-charge bookkeeper and accountant for 40 years in private businesses and CPA firms.

Working in CPA firms has given her the opportunity to see a wide variety of businesses and their QuickBooks files. She has found that at least 75% of the QuickBooks files have required corrections, some quite extensive, before the tax return could be prepared.

Her passion is teaching small business owners and non-profit organizations how to correctly input data, read financial statements, find errors, prepare their files for accurate tax returns, and how to work with their CPA. This is especially important for non-profit organizations because their accounting is different from small businesses.
